North of West – Retail Design
Working with co-owner Avery Bloom, I helped to re-imagine and produce some of the interior product displays used at the downtown retail store Portland, OR. The owners were specifically looking for small item and necklace displays using minimal materials.

To showcase the shop’s collection of artisan necklaces I wanted the displays to mimic the shape of a shirt collar and seemingly float on the wall. The final designs were constructed from strips of brass that I ran through the plate roller, then shaped on a form. The pre-drilled angles from the brass nails held the tension in place with minimal hardware. These displays look great with or without the necklaces.

Paper Luminaries
During the holiday seasons North of West asked me to do some festive luminaries. I hand folded and cut these from 92lb cover stock and used a battery powered candle to light them over night. They worked well, keeping with the minimal look during the day and adding a warm seasonal glow during the evening hours.
