Glass Mandalas

Inspired while looking through the bottom of a cut glass goblet at a wedding, I embarked on a photogram adventure. Developed in a makeshift darkroom in my bathroom, I saw this process as an extension of my printmaking experience- utilizing masks and depth of reflections to make interesting photographs.

Inspiration

Cut glass goblet reflecting sunlight on a tablecloth at a wedding.

Gathering

Collected cut-glass bowls and plates from local thrift stores.

Process

In the darkroom created individual masks and development processes for reproduction.

Outcome

Stark yet meditative geometric patterns that journey beyond their original forms.
